LaSalle Academy is designed to offer academic challenges beyond those required by Indiana Academic Standards to highly capable 6th through 8th-grade students.

The Academy provides a rigorous, comprehensive academic program in all subject areas distinguished by the application of technology and the infusion of math and science throughout the curriculum. Students participate in both guided and self-directed exploration across subject areas. The Academy is available to all middle school children who meet the criteria for admission. Enrollment will be controlled on a capacity and racial compliance basis. 

Admission Criteria:

  • Completion of the application process, including assessments.
  • Above average achievement levels in basic skills.
  • Score in the upper quartile (seventy-fifth percentile and higher) on standardized language arts and math tests.
  • Mastery of Indiana Academic Standards at prior grade level.
  • Exceptional social/leadership skills as reflected on the checklist provided by a current teacher and parents/guardians.
  • Commitment to rigorous academics, family involvement, and Academy expectations.
