We have reimagined and revived our Mentor Program, an effective means of improving the academic outcomes of our students, and enhancing their social-emotional skills both in the classroom and at home. Mentoring strengthens relationships with parents, teachers, and peers; it also enhances students’ confidence and leads to healthier lifestyle choices.

Our Mentor Program partners a caring community member with a student who needs a mentor, for 30-60 minutes per week at the child’s school (or online). SBCSC is home to around 16,000 students who are the heart, soul, and future of South Bend's community. Their success depends on the support of teachers, administrators, school staff, parents, and community. We believe you can help support and grow SBCSC's Mentor Program. There are two ways you can have an immediate impact on the program:

1. Volunteer as a Mentor

To volunteer as a mentor, fill out the online application and send your completed background check (attached to the application) to our District Mentor Coordinator, Taylor Williams, or deliver it to the SBCSC administration building (215 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) with attention to Taylor Williams. We would love to have you join #TeamSouthBend as a mentor!

2. Promote the Mentor Program

To promote the Mentor Program, send this flyer to any contacts you have or contacts you think would be interested in serving as a mentor. We need your help to spread the word about this incredible program!
