Day-long clinic gives parents/students chance to catch up on regular, required immunizations

The South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC), in partnership with the Indiana Immunization Coalition, is offering free immunizations for students to become current with their required immunizations, or in preparation for the upcoming school year. Parents and other community members in need of updated immunizations are also welcome.

The free service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, from 1:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Community Learning Center, 737 Beale Street in South Bend. Registration is strongly recommended and the form is available at PatientRegistrationForm (enrollment code IN65942). A limited number of walk-ins will be accepted.

Students of all ages and their parents who choose to participate in the clinic will be vaccinated with all recommended immunizations that are due at the time of the clinic. The Indiana Immunization Coalition will have access to all participants’ immunization records and can determine what immunizations are due.

This is not a COVID-19 vaccine clinic, but one offering standard, required immunizations. Types of vaccines that may be administered include DTaP/Tdap, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, HiB, polio, rotavirus, influenza, MMR, human papillomavirus, meningitis and varicella. The Center for Disease Control list of recommended immunizations for children and adolescents is available here.
